The Busselton Margaret River Airport continues to show strong growth in passenger and aircraft numbers. Almost 100,000 passengers travelled between 1 July 2023 and 28 February 2024, and this was an increase of 13% when compared to the same period in 2022/23.
The increase in passenger numbers is due to growth in Jetstar passengers with the fourth Melbourne service, and a 15% increase in FIFO passenger numbers across charter airlines.
New Sydney-Busselton Service
Numbers are expected to go even higher next year with the addition of the first direct Jetstar Sydney –Busselton service. These flights first commenced on 26 March 2024, just days before the second anniversary of Jetstar’s inaugural flight from Melbourne to Busselton in April 2022.
