Art Installations at Vasse Village

Art plays a very big part of the Vasse Estate strategic plan. In 2017, the Vasse Development Partners appointed Artsource to prepare the Vasse Art Strategy. Together with the City of Busselton, the Development Partners have been finalising the artists for the next two art pieces that will complement the existing sculpture of Timothee Vasse at the Village entry.

The next two exciting installations will be affixed to the walls on the building next to Coles at Lot 102 Napoleon Promenade.

Melski McVee Mural

Melski McVee has been selected from a shortlist of artists to install a colourful 26m long mural on the northern wall facing the Coles carpark. Melski is a Perth based artist who works primarily in community art, murals, sculptures and illustrations. Her work is a celebration of what is locally beautiful and quintessentially Australian. Her vibrant mural at Vasse will also see the local community involved to assist painting the artwork.

Peter Zappa Installation

The second wall at the eastern end of the building, facing Coles Express, will see an installation by Peter Zappa. Peter’s works, amongst other things, explore the concepts of form, drawing and space and he will install a unique fabricated artwork to a 2m square panel which will be visible for all Village shoppers entering the main street from Northerly Street.

Jack Bromell Art

Further artworks have been commissioned by the owners of Lot 110 Napoleon Promenade, opposite Coles. Local artist Jack Bromell will be busy completing these pieces over the last two weeks. The huge Cockatoo, Magpies and Kangaroo Paws are a magnificent addition to this now completed building.

All of these artworks, together with the maturing of the Napoleon Promenade streetscape and new exciting businesses opening, will make the Vasse Village a vibrant place to shop, relax and connect.
