Blue Tree Installed

Our Blue Tree was installed in Vasse this week in support of mental health. The Blue Tree will remind the millions of cars driving past each year that “it’s OK not to be OK”.

The Vasse Development Partners sought out the Blue Tree Project to encourage the community to speak out and support those who may be suffering.

“Following a period of isolation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic this year, we felt it was even more important than ever to bring the community together in aid of this initiative,” said Suzie Belbin, Community Development Officer for Vasse Estate.

Over 50 community members took part in the painting of the tree, which was co-hosted by the Vasse Lions in October. The tree was positioned by Anstee Earth Moving.

The initiative also received support from the broader South West region. Headspace Busselton, David Barton of Man Walk Busselton, and Jon Eddy of Shining Hope WA spoke with residents about mental health throughout the painting event.

Keep an eye out for the Blue Tree next time you’re travelling along Bussell Highway or in the Business Park. It’s located in a prominent location on Bussell Highway, near the intersection with Vasse Yallingup Siding Road.
